I gotta admit: it was rough trying to work on last year’s Project Life at the beginning of the quarantine season. My husband and I were making plans to travel in April and May back in January/February; we bought tickets to see The Killers in Amsterdam in July… I had plans to go back to Toronto in the summer. So putting everything on hold was difficult. I’m the type of person who needs to have something to look forward to when going through hard times, and right now, we don’t know when this will all end.
I started documenting March of 2019 back in December before I left on a month-long trip to Toronto. I did some more work on it back in February.. but I just didn’t feel like uploading it. Anyway, the longer we’re being asked to stay home, the more okay I am with reminiscing last year, so I edited the first March process video.
In March 2019, we went on one trip, and that was to the Swiss Alps to meet up with some friends. The details for the trip were solidified a little late, so the flights were super expensive and we took the train instead. I didn’t do a trip recap for this because we went to restaurants all within walking distance of the apartment.
I grew up in Canada, but I never tried snowboarding or skiing; my parents knew nothing about it as we moved to Canada from Mexico when they were in their 30s, and my siblings and I were kids. When I got older, I was too scared of going downhill on things such as bikes and rollerblades, so I didn’t care to try to learn. However, since my husband wanted to learn how to snowboard, I decided to take lessons with him. I tried, and I realized that I didn’t like the feeling of gliding on the snow, so in my opinion, there was no point in continuing. Aside from that, the other notable things we did were try Swiss cheese fondue which contains wine… so good and we tried snowshoeing! So what did I do while my husband and our friends were skiing/snowboarding? I hung out in the apartment, stayed warm, and enjoyed the view.. sometimes I ventured down to meet with them at the restaurant that was half-way between the ski lift and the apartment. I would definitely go on a ski/snowboard trip again, even if I don’t do much!
Now onto the PL process business..
Some background information on how I document: I document Project Life monthly, and I don’t limit the number of spreads that I do per month. I print my photos at home using an Epson PictureMate PM-400 for most of my photos under 5×7; Canon Pixma Pro-100 for anything larger. For printing journaling, elements and filler cards, I use an Epson ET-2650, and for printing on vellum, I use a Canon laser printer – LB6030w. The page protectors are held in a white 9×12 album by Studio Calico, and the 9×12 inserts I use are from Studio Calico and Ali Edwards, and the 6×8 are Simple Stories. My roller date stamp is 1Canoe2.
The cards are probably from Studio Calico and Kelly Purkey and the Kraft labels are from Target’s dollar spot from a few years ago.
