Hi friends!
We have a new change happening around these parts: I’m going to be switching over to one layout per video/blog post. The main reason being that I would like to experiment more and when I’m doing 2 or more spreads, I tend to keep it as basic as possible. I also would like to keep the length of the videos to under 10 minutes give or take a couple of minutes. Additionally, I can talk more about my design choices since a lot of the stuff I use is older and not available for purchase.
In regards to this spread, back in April, we were still in hardcore quarantine here in Germany… I did go for walks once in a while, but I was apprehensive after someone coughed on us on one of our walks back in March, so I mainly worked out at home. This layout is cat-heavy, but the rest of the month isn’t so much… it just so happened that there were lots of cat photos at the beginning of the month.
Some background information on how I document: I document Project Life monthly, and I don’t limit the number of spreads that I do per month. I print my photos at home using an Epson PictureMate PM-400 for most of my photos under 5×7 on Epson paper; Canon Pixma Pro-100 for anything larger on Kirkland photo paper (from Costco) for anything 8.5″x11″ and under; for the 13×19 photos I used on this spread, I used Canon Pro Luster photo paper. To printing journaling, elements and filler cards, I use an Epson ET-2650, and for printing on vellum, I use a Canon laser printer – LB6030w. The photo pocket pages are held in a Pinnacle album from Walmart, and the 6×12 inserts I use are from Becky Higgins – Design H My roller date stamp is 1Canoe2.
Both: The all the journal cards are from Ali Edwards‘ April 2020 Stories By The Month kit. I used a Micron black pen for the journaling, and the roller date stamp is from 1Canoe2. If it’s not listed, then unfortunately, I don’t know where it is from 🙁
Left: The vellum teal tag is from the Target One Spot. the tag dies I used are old from Studio Calico. The small label sticker, the “Morning” stamp is from the Good Morning set, and the grey ink is from the Urban collection all by Kelly Purkey. The puffy flower stickers are Dear Lizzy Lovely Day puffy stickers. The white ink used for the date is Brilliance in “Moonlight White”
Right: The “wish you were here” orange heart is from Ali Edwards‘ November 2019 Stories By The Month. The white pen is a Unibal Signo white gel pen. The white ink used for the date is Brilliance “Moonlight White,” the grey ink is Memento “London Fog,” and the black ink is StazOn. “The Easy Part”/”The Hard Part” stamps are from Ali Edwards‘ May 2020 Stories By The Month, and finally, the label is from one of Kelly Purkey‘s old kits.
Hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy!
xoxo,
