It’s hard to believe that we’re more than half way through April, and I just recently started my 2020 Project Life. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Project Life, it is a pocket scrapbooking system created by Becky Higgings. To read more about Project Life, check out the PL page on BeckyHiggins.com.
This year, or at least for the first half, I’ll be documenting using a 6″x12″ album because we’ve been pretty grounded for most of the year so far. I started my year in Canada, but aside from that, we didn’t take any other trips before being stuck at home. There will definitely be fewer photos, and most will be from home.. but that is life for us for the time being.
Some background info: I print my photos at home using an Epson PictureMate PM-400 for most of my photos under 5×7; Canon Pixma Pro-100 for anything larger. For my Instax photos, I use an Instax Share SP-2. The album I’m using is a Pinnacle photo album from Walmart, and the inserts are Becky Higgins PL Design H photo pocket pages. My roller date stamp is 1Canoe2, but has since been discontinued.
For the title page, I used Pinkfresh Studio‘s “New Places” from their “Out and About” collection. The gold Thickers are called “Celebrate” and the large “20” are Ali Edwards‘s Week In the Life 2020 plastic numbers. To adhere the 20 onto the pocket page, I used the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher and the Prima Marketing Planner Glue Pen
The main kit used here is the Ali Edwards‘s January 2020 Stories By The Month (SBTM) kit: the 2020 wood veneer, the stickers, and the “visiting Dusty” card.
Left side: I painted the 2020 wood veneer with acrylic paint (Studio Calico – Color Theory in “Something Blue”). I used old cards for the the background and the journal card. The “January” stamp is from Kerri Bradford‘s About Time stamp set, and the numbers 1, 2, and 3 are from Artist Gather‘s Retro Flip 2.0 alphas. The ink block is “Outdoor” by Kelly Purkey.
Right side: I created my own video game review card, which you can download here; the stickers were Simple Stories SN@P! Studio alphas. I cut down one of the 4×6 cards from the SBTM kit to use as a journal card; for the title, I used Kerri Bradford‘s Thick + Thin alphas. The grey ink pad I used is Memento “London Fog.”
The heart chipboards are from Felicity Jane.
For both layouts, I used old journal cards.
Left side: Stickers are from STBM January 2020 and Studio Calico. The yellow alphas are Simple Stories SN@P! Studios.
Right side: For the photo flip, I used a 3×4 Simple Stories SN@P! Studios photo flip pockets, and the tab is an Avery Holographic Ultratab (Sunset Ombré set), and the sticker is from Everyday Explorers Co.
And finally, the process video is below.
Hope you’re staying healthy!
