Hello friend!
We made it back from our trip to the Austin area. We visited my husband’s family and met up with some friends, got to spend time with our friends’ adorable dogs, had delicious food, and did a bit of shopping! The weather mostly cooperated with us aside from the tornado watch we were under one evening. Definitely missing the sunshine as we have had a few days of cloudy weather here in Germany, but otherwise, we’re doing well.
There wasn’t really much going on in our lives the first half of February, up until we went to Valencia for the Valentine’s Day weekend. So this part will include a day and a half of our trip.
This was my second trip to Valencia; I had previously gone with my mom in February 2019. I did write a couple of posts: the recap and the process video.
We flew to Valencia on the Friday evening before Valentine’s Day, and we checked into our airbnb which was close to the beach. My mom and I had stayed on that same street a couple of blocks away when we visited in 2019, and I was super excited to go back!
We had dinner at Casa Montaña where we had some tapas and wine, then we walked over to Gran Martinez for some cocktails. The name is a little odd, but I had a Porn Star Martini which has passionfruit and it is delicious! We talked for a bit before we walked back to our airbnb and called it a night.
On Saturday, my husband and I went to the same bakery my mom and I had. They had a smaller selection than they used to, and I am assuming it was because of the pandemic or because it was in the middle of winter.
We took our pastries back to the airbnb, and after breakfast, we took a taxi down to the meeting place for our paella cooking class. I was surprised to find that Uber no longer went to that side of town; again perhaps because it was winter. The paella class was recommended to us by a friend who lives in Valencia. It was at My First Paella. We had a wonderful time and learned lots about how to make a paella. We definitely recommend it!
This video includes 3 pages, so 1.5 spreads. I printed the photos using the Canon Pixma Pro 100 (which has been discontinued) on Kirkland 8.5″x11″ photo paper. I’m using a 10×8 album by Ali Edwards; the pocket pages I use are the ones with the two 4×4 and two 6×4 pockets. I mainly used the “Be Mine” kit by Paper Person Shop (the journal cards and 6×8 papers can be purchased digitally)
For the title card, I used printable vellum and Dura-Lar underneath it; for the text, I used the WRMK Foil Quill in the brightest pink from the Flamingo set. The printed journal card was created with the pills card from the Emotions printable cards and another digital card from Paper Person Shop. I used a Sharpie S-gel pen in 1.0.
All the cards on here and the heart sticker that says “love you” are from the “Be Mine” kit by Paper Person Shop. I used a Tombow Dual Brush pen in N95 to highlight the dates. The alpha stickers are from Lora Bailora. The chipboard stickers are from Ali Edwards: the plane (digital), “this DINNER” (digital), the utensils (digital). The “Friday” stamp is from Everyday Explorers’ Day by Day set and it was stamped using Flamingo ink by Studio Calico. To create the collage, I used the PicFrame app.
All the cards on here and the pink label are from the “Be Mine” kit by Paper Person Shop. The “Saturday” stamp is from Everyday Explorers’ Day by Day set and the “delish!” stamp is also by Everyday Explorers from the Let’s Eat set which is sold out; they were stamped using Flamingo ink by Studio Calico. The chipboard stickers are from Ali Edwards’ Travel Collection 2018 Main kit (digital). The “Super Fun food adventure” is from Feed Your Craft (sold out) and was stamped with Inky Black from Studio Calico.
