Greetings, friend!
We’re going back to January last year with this video when my mom was visiting, and we went on a somewhat last-minute trip to Paris for her birthday. I posted the first part of this trip last year.
What you see on this spread is our tacos from Candelaria which is a taqueria and a speakeasy. As I mentioned in the video, it has been really hard to get good Mexican food here, and it wasn’t until the last couple of months that we’ve had good Mexican here in Kaiserslautern. I still like Candelaria better than the restaurant here.
On my mom’s birthday, we went for breakfast at Ladurée on Champs-Élysées . We love their pain perdu (French toast); each bite melts in your mouth! We then walked around and went to see the Arc De Triomph, then we walked over to the Louvre. Walking in there, we shared a really strange moment where it felt like we went back in time for a few seconds.
I wanted to take a photo of her in front of the pyramid at the Louvre. In 2023, my dad, brother, and niece were visiting the Louvre on her birthday and I took photos of them there, so I wanted to do the same with my mom. There is a process video and blog entry our visit to Paris, too.
In the evening, we went to see the Eiffel Tower. I never tire of it! My favourite part is when the lights sparkle at night; they sparkle for 5 minutes at the top of the hour after dusk.
On the last day of our trip, we went to see the apartment building from Emily in Paris and we went to the amazing bakery up the street. Everything was amazinggg, and my mom loved it all as well. She is the pickiest person when it comes to sweets.
We walked by the Notre Dame before heading back to the hotel to check out. At home, we shared a galette de rois with my husband from the bakery. It was also amazing.
To round out the page, I have a couple of photos from home.
Finally, below is the process video. Let me know if you have questions on anything I have used.
Thanks so much for coming by!
